ANIMAL EDVENTURES WITH NEW AND FAVORITE ANIMALS (Multiple Classes: K & 1st-4th)
This Class will be like having the Discovery Channel right in the classroom. Students will enjoy this unique, hands-on, interactive experience featuring a variety of live animals, including different kinds of (non-poisonous) snakes, lizards, tortoises, frogs, bugs, spiders, birds and mammals. Students will be able to learn about and touch/hold these children friendly and safe to handle animals and participate in an art project relating to the animal(s) of the week.
NEW and FUN Animals will be introduced during this Session. Students will also have the opportunity to help decide which other Animals will be brought to class during the session. Min/Max: 10/18 per class (a minimum of 20 total Students is required in order to teach these classes).

BASKETBALL (Multiple Classes: K & 1st-4th)
Kids will have TONS OF FUN while learning FUNDAMENTAL BASKETBALL SKILLS and beginning preparation to play Recreational Basketball for Fun, Leagues, etc. BASKETBALL SKILLS TO BE TAUGHT/REINFORCED INCLUDE:dribbling, passing, shooting, offense and defense. Benefits include developing movement skills, eye-hand coordination, enhancing self-confidence, learning teamwork and rules. The skills taught will depend on the skill level of the group. Meet on Basketball Ct. Min/Max: 6/10 per class.
11 Tuesdays: January 10-March 20, 2012 (No Days Off)
Learning and playing Chess will seem like fun and games to your children, but as they learn this game played by Kings, they will learn to focus and increase their concentration, build their memory and sequencing skills and enhance their problem solving skills; all are keys to their future academic success. During this session, the kids will learn the FUNdamentals of Chess including some basic strategies. Min/Max: 6/12
DANCE FROM AROUND THE WORLD: A MULTI-CULTURAL EXPERIENCE (NEW)

For 1st-4th Grade Students: Please pack a snack and drink for your Child. Students can eat their snack from 1:45-2:00 pm. Classes will begin at 3:00 pm.
11 Thursdays; January 12-March 22, 2011 (No Days Off)
Every Class is like going on vacation. This is an exciting and FUN multi-cultural Dance class where Students will learn a variety of Dances from around the world. Classes may include styles from the U.S., Africa, Europe, Haiti , Brazil and from other regions in the world; some based on Student requests. Students will have a lot of FUN as they experience new, fun and a variety of rhythmic styles of dance. Sessions begin with a discussion focusing on the country or region where the Dance originated and Students will learn about the Country's culture and the meaning behind the movements. This will be a great way for students to broaden their dance technique and to learn about different Counties. Get ready to travel around the world; each class will be a “new stop”. Mini-Performance on the last day of Class. Min/Max: 6/12 Students per Class

Guitar A: ON 11Tuesdays; January 10-March 20, 2012 (No Days Off); from 4:05-5:05 pm (Must be also be enrolled in either Rainbow Club, Music and Chorus from 3:00-4:00 pm or in Basketball (3:00-4:00 pm)
Guitar B: On 11 Thursdays, January 12-March 22, 2012; 1:45-3:00 pm (Please pack a snack and a drink for your child; Snack Break/Discussion from 1:45-2:00 pm)
Guitar C: On 11 Thursdays, January 12-March 22, 2012; 3:05-4:05 pm. Must also be enrolled in either Rainbow Club, Sports Mania (2nd grade), Chess (2nd-4th grade) or Spanish (2nd-4th grade) which ends at 3:00 pm)

Students will have a lot of Fun in these small groups learning Guitar and some Music Theory as well as playing songs. The class will include rhythm and percussion activities, an introduction to reading music, guitar chords and basic music theory. Guitars will be provided, but we encourage Parents to purchase age/size appropriate Guitars for their Children so that they can also Practice at Home. . Min/Max: 3/5 per class.
LEGO ENGINEERING (Multiple Age Groups: K & 1st-4th)
Students will have Tons of Fun as they learn to design and build motorized machines and architectural projects that may include catapults, pyramids, demolition derby cars, truss and suspension bridges, buildings, and other constructions. They will explore concepts in physics, mechanical engineering, structural engineering, and architecture while playing with their favorite creations. This is a hands-on and minds-on class suitable for LEGO® novices to “maniacs.” Taught by Play-Well Teknologies
Kindergarten: Pre-Engineering (75 minutes): 2:00-3:15 pm (Min/Max: 10/16)
1st-4th: Engineering Fundamentals (90 minutes): 3:00-4:50 pm (Min/Max: 9/18)

MARTIAL ARTS WITH BELTS AND OPTONAL UNIFORMS (Multiple Classes: K & 1st-4th)
Kids will enjoy learning the FUNdamentals of Martial Arts, including stance, punches, kicks and blocks. They will warm-up and stretch at the beginning of each class and cool down at the end of class. Emphasis will be placed on safety, the use of their new skills for self-defense only and respect. The benefits of these classes will include learning discipline and focus as well as enhanced self-confidence and self-esteem. The skills taught will depend on the level of the group. All Sudents will receive a White Belt and will be tested for their Stripes and increased Levels/Belts. Martial Arts Uniforms may be purchased but will be optional during this session. Min/Max: 6/12 per class

(Please note that those families who enrolled their child in our Martial Arts Classes during the Fall 2011 session will be given a credit for 1 class since we were unable to schedule a make-up class).
MUSIC & CHORUS (Multiple Classes: K & 1st-4th)
Students will have a lot of FUN as they learn and practice singing a variety of Musical Theatre and Pop Songs, etc.. Students will be given the opportunity to suggest some of their favorite songs that they would like to sing. A Karaoke Machine may be brought to classes to make the experience even more enjoyable and so that songs can be recorded. Parents will be invited to a Mini-Performance on the last day of Class. Min/Max: 6-12.

SCIENCE FUN (Multiple Classes: K & 1st-4th) NEW
Students will have Tons of Fun as they get an introduction to Rhythmic Gymnastics. The class features instruction in basic skills of dance and equipment handling ; such as ribbons, ropes, hoops, balls, scarves and bean bags. Students may also learn to tumble and walk on a (floor) balance beam as part of the various routines that will be taught. Student will be taught to warm-up and stretch at the beginning of each class. This can include low impact jumping, running, skipping, galloping, and other gross motor skills and movement. Parents will be invited to a Mini-Performance on the last day of class.
Enter a World of Science, where Students will have Tons of Fun as they get creative and learn through discussions and hands-on (safe) experiments. These can include Chemistry (e.g., making “slime” and Erupting "Volcanos"), Physics (such as Force, Motion, Gravity and Defying Gravity by making paper airplanes), Energy (e.g. Magnetism, Light, Sound, Electricity by using batteries , making cars that run on Solar Energy, etc) and about the Human Body (such as bones, muscles, organs and the importance of being physically fit), and more. Some Games and Physical Activities may be included to reinforce some of the Science concepts learned.
SPANISH 1 (Multiple Classes: K & 1st-4th) AND SPANISH 2 (1st-4th)
Students will have a lot of FUN as they begin to learn Spanish. Research has shown that children who know more than one language have greater levels of success in other areas of study, including reading, writing, grammar, social studies and math and more. This beginning Spanish Class will teach Students to count, the alphabet, time, emotions, weather, months, seasons, and days of the week, clothing, body parts, colors, activities, culture and grammar
The objective of this program is to introduce children to foreign language and culture at an early age when they still have a linguistic openness to easily learn a second language. Their adaptability, their lack of inhibition and above all their ability to reproduce sounds accurately will help them learn a second language with great ease.
11 Fridays; January 13-March 23, 2011 (No Days Off)
The program promotes the development of speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Our teaching method ensures that children build key language skills in a full immersion context and master core vocabulary. Native-speaking teachers immerse children entirely in the target language though games, projects, music & movement and other activities designed to maximize learning and fun! To be taught by the Language Door. Min/Max: 10-16 per Class.
SPANISH 1 (K & 1st-4th) : No Previous experience needed. 11 Tuesdays; January 10-March 20, 2012.
SPANISH 2 (1st-4th): Not required, but it will be helpful if Students have either taken Spanish 1 in the Fall 2011 Session OR if they have prior experience learning Spanish. 11 Thursdays; January 12-March 22, 2012; No Days Off.
SPORTS MANIA (K & 1st-2nd)
Kids will have TONS OF FUN while learning to play a variety of sports which can include Soccer, T-Ball/Baseball, Basketball, Flag Football, Frisbee, as others that the kids would enjoy learning/playing. Mini-Games will be played. The children will warm-up and stretch at the beginning of each class. Classes are FUN and SKILL DEVELOPMENT ORIENTED, not competitive. Meet on Basketball Court. Min/Max: 6/12

TENNIS (Multiple Classes: K & 1st-4th)
Kids will have TONS OF FUN while learning FUNDAMENTAL TENNIS SKILLS AND A LOVE FOR A LIFELONG SPORT. Our Staff utilize portable nets, downsized racquets and a great curriculum. The skills taught will vary depending on the level of each group. Some of the tennis skills that will be taught include grips, forehand, backhand, serving, return of serve, volleying, rules and scoring. The benefits of these skills include improved eye-hand coordination, improving concentration, sharpening thinking, mathematics, social and communication skills, as well as enhancing self-confidence. Meet on Basketball Court. Min/Max: 6/10 per class
